The open space property surrounded by South Pinery, Democrat and Autumn Oaks Road is owned by Douglas County and was/is slated as future school property. High Prairie Farms Metro District (HPFMD) has been working with Douglas County (DC) for the past two years in an attempt to both beautify this parcel and make it useable to the homeowners of the Timbers.

last year the property was plowed and seeded by HPFMD and is now being maintained by the District, cutting it at least once a season, which was never done by DC. This year small trees that otherwise would have been destroyed, were relocated from new housing development areas. Small trees are being used because they stand a better chance of survival when replanted. This tree relocation will continue this fall.

Our next step will be to add recycled asphalt millings as walk pathways through this area giving residents better access for walking and playing in this field.

We have chosen to use recycled materials for their economical value and because DC can reclaim the property for their use at anytime in the future and remove any/all improvements made by HPFMD. You may have see marking fiags in the field periodically that mark tree locations or proposed path layouts.

Our next step will be to install some type of seating, exercise stations or other useful features to enhance the property and encourage homeowner use of the property.
